1 week with the app and I still cannot see any of my local theaters even though they show up on the website as e-ticketing. Argghh

Try changing your location to zip 76006. I see several theaters in the app there. I'd be surprised if the theaters near you actually support eTicketing. Only 6% of the theaters do. The rest won't show up until you activate and link your moviepass card

How do I know when my moviepass card ships out?

This evening was the first time I have been able to see theater's local to my area (OMAHA), so things are definitely getting fixed on the MoviePass site!

I live in 22182, in the Washington metropolitan area, and it shows no theaters found in my zip code or any of the neighboring ones for 100 square miles. To top it off, I have not even received my card. And to add insult to injury, there is no one you can call or speak to live through chat to get some answers. If this is isn't fixed, I think I might have to cancel and then fight the $9.95 initial charge through my credit card company. Ridiculous!

Same issue for me for Phoenix-area ZIP codes. Only location that shows theaters on the website is New York City, and not a single location shows up in my app.

The Android app is still not loading theaters in Orlando, no matter how many zip codes I put in or whether my GPS is on. When will the app be fixed?

Change your location to zip code 76006 and you will see several theaters listed. These are eticketing theaters and it shows them because you do not need the card to go to them. Once you receive your card and activate it then the rest of the theaters will show up.

Dev singh There are no E ticketing theaters in Orlando Area .You can change the zip code all you want but there's very few theaters that are actually E ticketing theaters. The only ones I know of are in Texas area zip 76006

Today, theaters started showing up in my app. All my local theaters are there--even two of the three "indie" theaters. They're not e-ticketing locations, so I know I can't actually start using the service because I don't have my card, but it seems like a good sign that the theaters show up now.

Still having the same issues. App doesn't show any theaters and my card still hasn't come in even though I ordered it 10 days ago.

With reports that people are starting to see theaters show in the app, I decided to try again and what do you know?  I'm seeing theaters listed in Albuquerque, NM now.  No card yet... but theoretically, if I had my card, I would be able to see movies now.

Looks like they are starting to catch up folks.  Just need to be a little patient.

The app was working fine for me.   I could see all the theaters, it showed me I need to be 100yds to check in.

I drive to my movie theater, as soon as I get to the theater the app stops working, theaters show up blank, can't check in or basically do anything.

    • Before the app stopped working it asked me to verify the last 4 numbers on my card (I didn't receive my card yet but I could see the last four digits under Profile > Moviepass Card
    • Once I verified these numbers THIS is when the app decided to stop working.
    • Once this happened my MoviePass Card info does show and The app will NOT show any theaters.

I have yet to receive my card, but I have a feeling once my card arrives this problem doesn't magically disappear.  I have contact MoviePass, yet to receive a response.

While I am hoping that this new version of MoviePass is not a scam, it has all the earmarks of a "grab the money and run" scheme.  My card was ordered and paid for about 10 years ago and I also have not received it. I contacted MoviePass support and also never received a response.  So, what is a person to think?

Correction... that was 10 days ago... not 10 years ago.

I've read multiple articles from legitimate online newspapers/bloggers that have said that they have received their cards and were able to register with the app on their phone and get it to work.

It seems that if you didn't sign up in the first couple of days, there is now a huge backlog to get the cards rolled out.

According to one article, a guy signed up, got his card, registered it in the app (had to delete the app and reinstall to get the option again), and was able to purchase a ticket.

He video taped the process.  It does work.  It's just VERY finicky in how it is initially setup.

Experiencing same issue in my android app - always get the alert asking me to enable GPS. I have tried various different combinations of starting/restarting/re-installing the app, enabling/disabling GPS and granting all required permissions to the app etc. The alert completely prevents me from doing anything in the app.

I am experiencing the same issue as the above. Whenever I open the app I get stuck on the ENABLE GPS screen even though my location services are enabled on my phone. Other apps are recognizing this but not MoviePass. Very frustrating.

I'm using a Galaxy S7 with Android and when I log in on the app it tells me to "enable my GPS" and I do so - but MoviePass doesn't register that my GPS is working even though Google Maps does and my GPS is clearly working fine. So there's no way I can look for movies or use the app at all. Please help!

    UPDATE

I finally received my MoviePass card. (I signed up and was billed on August 14th).  The next Billing Date isn't until Sept 29th, So i'll eat the half of month...

But, upon receiving my MoviePass card, the app had no issues.  I went to my local theater, checked in on the app, then it told me i had 30min to buy the ticket.

I was so fucking frustrated with the lack of support, and the time it took for them to send me the card, but I plan on using the shit out of this thing so I believe it was worth the wait.  Good Luck, sucks but patience is all it takes

I signed up on August 15th and still haven't received my card. However, it has been outright said that the billing period doesn't start until after we use the service for the first time, so I'll be pretty ticked if my billing date is based on something silly, like when the card was shipped or whatever. I've been waiting really %%&@*^ patiently here.

Check your statement because I definitely got billed on August 14th when I signed up. Only was able to use the card for the first time today . I'm going to abuse the shit out of it so I'll eat the $9.99

Oh, yeah, they definitely billed my card when I signed up on the 15th. But they said the billing cycle won't start 'til I use it. So the second charge, if they're telling the truth, shouldn't be 'til about 30 days after I used it.

But with you saying your billing cycle starts on the 29th--just 20 days after you used it and not 30--makes me wanna check the app to see if they've started a billing cycle for me even though I haven't gotten the card, much yet used it.

I waited to see if I'd get the card before going to see "It." No dice. I'll see it tomorrow on my own dime.  :-)

Go in the app click on your name and see what the billing cycle is of mine is the 29th I'd bet you're 30th

Hysterical--before your last message, Joey R, I went into my app, and was pleased to see a full list of my local theaters. I went in specifically to see if I had a billing date yet. I did not--the Billing date (or I think it was called next bill day or something like that) was blank.

Then, just now, I went again to see if I was going to the same place you were. I was going to the same place, and there still is no date there... But now NO THEATERS ARE SHOWING AGAIN! Hahahaha, what a ride this has been.

Dave, Did you get your card yet? For some reason, the app magically worked today when I received my card today. It's a pain in the dick, but I am positive once you get your card youll be good. They told me I would recieve it before the 10th if I ordered it on Aug 14th. Your card has to be any day now.  I legit had the same thing with the app it would work and then not work on its own.

Card not here yet. I check the mail every day like I'm Bart Simpson waiting for his Spy Camera.
