    Since all the previous comments were deleted, I will reiterate that the only effective method I found to cancel my account was to dispute the charge with my credit card company, which was a simple process that only took a minute. All attempts to contact MoviePass support were ignored until I did so.

    I’m surprised they deleted all the comments from here concerning the severe difficulty in canceling an account.

    my app does not show any theaters that support moviepass. my computer shows some theaters, but i cannot access them; can't get to the home page to get to the "hamburger icon"

    did the same as person above; called my credit card and disputed the charge

    Until you have your card, you can't see all theaters in the app.

    why is that???

    Because that's how it's designed. You can use e-ticket theaters immediately....only they show until you get a card. Then they all show.

    What if you can't even get logged in to cancel? I can't get a single response from their support team and it's quite frustrating. I would really just like to get a response and try to use this. But it's been a terrible experience just trying to get help.

    Even if you were able to log in, you still might not be able to cancel. The cancel function was broken in the app when I tried.

    The Android app is completely broken and useless.  I have 2 options... sign up or login.  If I click login, it says I'm logged in through facebook.  If I click logout, I get a popup that says I'm logged in through facebook.  That's literally all it does.  No menu anywhere to select theaters or cancel my account.

    There should at least be an option on the website to cancel so we don't have to go through the hassle of disputing the charge with our credit card company.

    Mike, that is literally the same thing that's happening to me, and it won't let me change my password or anything. The pop up that comes up for changing it asks for my email, then I get NOTHING. so frustrating.

    I mistakenly signed up for Moviepass before finding out that you need a mobile device to use it, and I don't carry a smartphone or other mobile device.  Someone from the Moviepass team replied to a tweet and told me that the "hamburger icon" one must click to get to the cancel account info is (only) on their mobile app.

    So, if you don't have a mobile device, apparently there's no way to cancel your service.

    I haven't received the card or activated the account yet.  I'm hoping that failure to activate means that my card won't be charged.

    The amazing thing is that I've reached out to Moviepass at least a dozen times via e-mail and Twitter and no one has helped me cancel my account.

    Oh well, I've already reported Moviepass to the Attorney General's office in my state and have a cousin who's an assistant AG in another state.  I'll let her know, as well, if this isn't resolved.

    You reported them to the AG for something your own stupid ass did? BAHAHAHA. Call your freakin' credit card company, dispute the charge and STFU.

    No, I reported them for not providing a "cancel account" link on the same website upon which they're taking registrations and credit card numbers.

    The site isn't particularly clear upon the requirement of a mobile device to use Moviepass and, yes, maybe I shouldn't have signed up minutes after viewing the CBS Saturday Morning story which depicted the process as simply handing the card over to the movie theater cashier and getting your ticket of the day, but that still doesn't excuse them for not providing a way to cancel an account for people who don't have mobile devices or who may be using a mobile OS which doesn't support Moviepass.

    @Mike /@Jessie,

    Even I am having the same problem unable to login- not sure if it is a global problem or only some of us.

    Is it related to devices we are using- I am using oneplus3 with Android N(7.1.1)

    @Kapil,
    I've attempted to login with both my laptop and phone(Nexus 5X), I think we can take the device out of the equation.

    From the laptop I am able to login , unable to on app only- strange

    Many of us are having issue to login, though MoviePass has charged money to our bank credit card account, no response from them when we are trying to reach out to them, we all are in same boat feeling scammed.

    I am amazed how easy it was to sign up and get charged but how difficult it is to actually get the app or website to work right. This is a terrible company and service. Can't even cancel the damn thing.

    Go to Twitter and see the huge amount of complaints. Use #MoviePass @MoviePass @MoviePass_cs & you will see all the complaints. File a complaint with the FTC , The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Better Business Bureau. Dispute the charges on your credit card, or if used PayPal. You might want to reach out to the local news channels that help people with consumer issues. There are probably some other Consumer organizations that might be able to help also.

    You guys are all lame. You can't get movie tickets until you receive the MoviePass debit MasterCard they are issuing out. Once you receive it and activate it the app will be functional. The app doesn't work correctly till you have the debitMaster card activated. And the last piece of the puzzle is that the app and debit card work together to finalize the purchase of the ticket when you are near the theater and the movie is screening shortly.  You should only be complaining if you got your card and your at the theater and you can't get a ticket. Until then, any issues you see in the app does not matter. So chill the fuck down! It's ridiculous that some people wanna call the BBB, Consumer Protection Bureau, State Attorneys office all for $9.95. You're not a victim of fraud... at least not yet. The company went from 20,000 customers to have 150,000 customers overnight. Jesus Christ, they deserve a little bit of a break over a $9.95 credit card charge. Obviously they weren't expecting such a massive signup . The company's been around for over 6 years and have offered passes ranging from $15 to $50 over the 6 years  and it was just never that popular so it's dumb when people say that they should of expected this and staffed properly. And  If you're so hard up for $10 maybe you shouldn't be buying a MoviePass since you need it for essentials.  Anyways I hope you do cancel because I don't want to have to sit next to dumb ass complainers complaining because they can't be patient.

    You guys must have never learned patience nor common sense. The apps aren’t working because they are overloaded. Customer Service isn’t responding because they can’t catch up. Just breathe, let them get their shit together and chill out for a week.

    It's been 2 weeks dumbass. And it's not just $9.95. It's 9.95/mo. Quit making excuses for these guys. You probably work for them. What other service companies out there would sell something and not deliver the basics, like a working app or website, before announcing their great promotion? For those of you idiots who want to defend them, you have really low standards. And gullible as hell.

    You know, come to think of it... Anyone want free movies... Just send me $10 and trust me, I'll send you a shiny card to use. Just give some time to work out the logistics. Promise.

    Yeah except Cory your a nobody and the CEO of MoviePass is Mitch Lowe who helped start Netflix and Redbox and the firm behind MoviePass is Helios and Matheson Analytic Inc. which is a corporation that is publicly traded on the NASDAQ and provides big data for the government as well as alot of Fortune 500 companies. They have released statements that your membership will not start until you receive and activate your debit card with the app. The app works and so does the website for those that have debit cards and apps that are activated. You can't activate the app without the debit card. And you can't see any movies without The debit card so why are you freaking out because you "think" the app isn't working. It shouldn't matter so why get upset about it. You can't see any movie untill you get your card. The time to complain is when you get your card and your at the theater and you can't see the movie. Untill then people need to chill the fuck down!

    unicorn.butterfly rocks! Thanks for all the great info, very much appreciated. I'm a very patient person, I can most definitely wait for this deal-of-a-lifetime movie greatness to work. I agree 100% on everything you said. Keep educating the masses.

    I signed up last Friday and have not received my card but was able to activate the card on the website by looking under "MoviePass Card" in the profile section of the app to find the card number's last 4 digits. I still am unable to see any theaters in my city on the app no matter what I do even though all 4 of my theaters show on the actual website and 2 have e-ticketing. I have tried re-installing the app, clearing the app cache and data and logging out and in multiple times and still no theaters show. So the people that are saying that the theaters will only show when the card is activated, this is not necessarily true, at least in my case. The theaters that allow e-ticketing should still be showing up in the app even before the card is received. The mass email they sent a couple of days ago says that.

    @Philip Berliner  I am having almost the exact same situation as you.  I signed up my mother-on-law for this and logged in on my phone only to find out she needed to have a smart phone.  Sooooo, I try to cancel through the app and the wait circle spins for a second and then stops.  There is no confirmation of cancellation and the option to cancel is still there.  There is no option to cancel on the website and so now what do I do.  I send in an email and get the auto response.

    I click on no and where does it take me.

    Dear lord..  this terrible!

    All, these guys are legit, not sure what threat issues are right now. Helios Capital bought moviepass.com today and former Netflix Co-Founder is now running the show. Just an FYI
